The primary access road into the recreation ground has been compromised by the erection of scaffolding today for roof repairs at 136 London Road.

This scaffolding has been put up by the developer with no prior warning to the Parish Council.

We understand that pedestrian access via the designated footpath should still be possible underneath the scaffolding. What is of concern is whether there is still sufficient space for vehicles to turn into that access road safely from London Road.

We have been advised that the work could be completed by Saturday, but it remains to be seen just when the scaffolding will be taken down.

PLEASE BE CAREFUL & PATIENT IF YOU ARE VISITING THE PAVILION OR RECREATION GROUND BY CAR. The access point from Glyn Davies Close is still usable but please be mindful of all neighbours and vigilant as this has the potential to cause some congestion in that area.

We can only apologise for any inconvenience caused to our patrons, but we would reiterate that we have not been given any opportunity to forewarn everyone.

DIRECTIONS

Additional Information

Follow London Road north and at the mini roundabout (junction with Station Road) go straight over. Village green to your left (noticeboard, flagpole, timber bus shelter) and shops to the right. Continue over bridge, Dunton Green Primary School and The Duke’s Head on your right. Immediately after the pub is the entrance to Glyn Davies Close but turn right just after this into the service road to the recreation ground car park (just before the terrace starts).
