The recreation ground has generally taken a bit of a battering this winter with all the very wet weather that we have had and the increased footfall on muddy ground with more people taking their exercise there during lockdown.

The goalmouths on the football pitch have been particularly badly affected. We cordoned them off so that they couldn't be used and would have a chance to recover a bit. But despite out best efforts, the tape has been ripped down, the steelpins thrown around and the area played on. The goalmouths are now in an even worse state.

We will be putting a cordon back up. PLEASE do not take the tape down - it is there for a reason. We are scheduling all sorts of work to get the pitch back up to a decent condition (all when conditions & weather allow) and we would really appreciate everyone's help in not using areas that are a bit worse for wear and have some sort of barrier around them!

We hope that with some continued dry weather we will see conditions improve enough during this month that our grounds maintenance team can get the equipment back out and start work on the repairs. Please bear with us.

Thank you!
