Yesterday a child was injured in the play area at the recreation ground because mindless individuals had decided it would be a good idea to break glass over the play equipment.

Today broken glass on the path into underpass near the school has been reported. And now yet more glass has been spotted at the rear of the Pavilion in the recreation ground.

We have contacted SDC to try to get everything cleared up but please take care around the village. With such antisocial behaviour going on the Parish Council simply cannot keep up with getting this cleared and we are concerned about the safety of residents.

The Community Safety Unit has been contacted and the Police will be monitoring the area.

If you find glass anywhere please get it reported as soon as possible so that it can be cleared. Ideally, contact Sevenoaks District Council on 01732 227000 and provide them with details of exactly where the glass is so that they can come and collect it. The Street Cleansing team is already under immense pressure clearing up litter and fly tipping and this is yet something else for them to deal with.

PLEASE TAKE CARE WHEN YOU ARE AT THE RECREATION GROUND and anywhere else in the village. Please help with reporting matters and hopefully we might be able to get to the bottom of who is behaving so irresponsibly.

Thank you.
