UPDATE: 8 fire engines in DG but the fire is now out. Please keep your windows closed until the smoke has cleared.

There is currently a train on fire in DG – before the Station Road railway bridge, adjacent to the Ryewood estate.

If anyone was expecting to travel by train via DG today we doubt very much that you’ll be able to. It will also explain why you may be able to smell smoke across the village this morning.

Fire engines currently on Ryewood and in Station Road, dealing with the fire which looks to be some form of works train? Hopefully no-one has been injured. If/when we get any further information we will update.
