Obscene Graffiti
Dunton Green Parish Council
It seems likely that we have a very bigoted and unpleasant person living in our midst. Perhaps it is more than one?
The latest evidence is a swastika daubed inside the bus shelter, the refurbishment of which has only been completed in the last week – thanks.
Sadly, this is nothing new. We usually find that a marker pen has been used when these signs appear around the village - on seats, on lamp posts, on walls. Someone sneaking about the area, putting hate signs all over the place in a way that means that no-one apparently knows that they are doing it. We’ve seen it at the station, on the bench over at Longford Meadow, on the noticeboard up by the Rose & Crown and pretty much everywhere in between.
Does anyone have any idea as to who this coward is? Someone so impassioned that they graffiti property and yet aren't 'brave' enough to do it so people can see them? If you do know, please do us all a favour and tell the Police – call 101 to report this hate crime. Crimestoppers can be contacted anonymously if you are concerned: online https://crimestoppers-uk.org/give-information/forms/pre-form or by phone 0800 555 111.
If by some remote chance the sign in the bus shelter turns out not to be a Nazi/White Power emblem (who knows what the intent was), it is still graffiti and criminal damage has been caused. Paint your own property!!
