Dunton Green Parish Council has once again joined the Kent Association of Local Council’s Community Award Scheme.

This Award recognises people who have made a significant contribution to the community.

Previous recipients have included Brian Tingley and Graham Hersey who have both had longstanding connections with the Parish Council and who have worked quietly in the background to make Dunton Green a better place for all. Volunteers like Jean Newman (who has been very supportive of our older residents over a long period) and Dot Carpenter (who until the pandemic started last year was running the Over 55s Social Club to give older residents an opportunity to meet up once a month on a Sunday) have also been recognised.

This year the Parish Council is asking for residents to submit their nominations. Is there a group or an individual that you think is deserving of some recognition of their efforts in the Dunton Green Community? A significant contribution to the local community could be any or all of the following: long and sustained service to the community or part of it; achievements or actions of an inspiring nature to the local community; such other activities which have reflected credit on or brought benefits to Dunton Green or its people.

We would love to hear who you think is deserving of some recognition. The closing date for receiving nominations will be 11.59pm on Sunday 24th January 2021. The Parish Council will then consider all the nominations and will agree who will receive the 2021 Award.
