We have just received the following from Connect Plus who maintain the Highways England M25 network:

We are writing to notify you that we will be closing the M25 between junctions 4 and 6 in both directions and the M26 junction 2a to the M25 for three consecutive nights starting tonight between the hours of 10pm and 6am.

The diversion for these closures is via A21 southbound to Westerham, A25 westbound, A21, A225 to M25 Junction 5 Spur.

We apologise for the short notice of these closures, which has been as a result of late approval of the diversions needed.

These closures will allow the removal of the narrow lanes currently on the M25 for the emergency area bay works, in addition to white lining and stud installation, to allow the M25 to operate at full capacity again. We will also use the closure to deliver essential maintenance works.

It is hoped that the completion of the emergency area bays will reduce the number of times that the A25 is needed to be used for a diversion.
